In collaboration with the Government of Pakistan, IFAD is organizing a high-level seminar entitled Preparing Rural Communities to Cope with Climate Change through South-South and Triangular Cooperation, in Islamabad on 14 March.
The main objective of the seminar is to share knowledge, experience and lessons on addressing climate change issues for improving rural livelihoods. In addition, the seminar will highlight the role of South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) in furthering the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, be a step in the implementation of the Brasilia Declaration and Action Agenda on SSTC and contribute towards the high-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation planned in early 2019 (BAPA+40).
The Government of Pakistan will be represented by two Federal Ministers, several Federal Secretaries and others concerned from the Federal and Provincial levels. Representatives from civil society organizations, research and academic institutions, private sector, embassies, international organizations (AfDB, AsDB, CGIAR, FAO, WFP and others) will also participate to share their insights.
