With support from the UN-India Development Partnership Fund, the Ministry of Health, Government of Mauritania and WHO are implementing a project “Enhancing Capacity to Reduce Maternal Mortality in Nouakchott”. This initiative aims to enable 11 reproductive health centres through building infrastructure, non-medical and sanitary equipment, custom trainings to midwives and health professionals to improve their skills in new-born delivery, neonatal practices and in providing care to mothers at the health facility.
